Push vs. Pull

Ok, 2 forms of marketing.

push - Buy lists and use traditional call, snailmail, email.

pull - Invest in SEO, SEM, SMM marketing.

I am at a crossroads here, push is tried and tested. But it really seems to me that pull generates more qualified leads.

So what do you think the percentages of the monthly advertising budget should be 50/50?
